The Map Your Neighborhood (MYN) program prepares  residents of their immediate neighborhood to help one another in the aftermath of a disaster when 911 is not available.  Neighbors, working together, can reduce the serious consequences of disaster.

Kirkland CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) is sponsoring a facilitator training on January 13, 2014 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Fire Station #26, address: 9930 124th Ave NE, Kirkland, WA 98034.

Participants will be taught the basics of the MYN process, including the 9-step Neighborhood Response Plan that teaches how to respond to injuries, leaking natural gas, and residents who may be isolated or frightened.

Information will be provided that instructs how to gather your neighbors, create a map of your neighborhood, and identify the skills and equipment available.

To register, visit www.KirklandCert.com. There is a $5 registration fee. Payment options are online. Space is on a first come basis.
