Map Your Neighborhood (MYN) is program which prepares the residents of your neighborhood to help one another in the aftermath of a disaster when 911 is not available.  All of us, working together, can reduce the serious consequences of disaster.

Kirkland CERT is sponsoring a facilitator training on October 9, 2014 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Fire Station #22, address: 6602 108th Ave NE, Kirkland, WA 98033. Click here for directions: http://www.kirklandwa.gov/Assets/Fire+and+Building/Fire+PDFs/Station+22+parking+map.pdf

Participants will be taught the basics of the MYN process, including the 9-step Neighborhood Response Plan that teaches how to respond to injuries, leaking natural gas, and residents who may be alone or frightened.

We will show you how to gather your neighbors, map your neighborhood, and identify the skills and equipment the various residents have.

You will leave with all the information and materials you need to map your neighborhood.

This class is free of charge.
