CERT Program of Kirkland, WA

Hero House Emergency Preparedness Class

  • Thursday, July 17, 2014
  • 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM
  • Hero House: 14230 NE 21 ST. Bellevue, WA 98007

Volunteers are needed to work as training assistants in this emergency preparedness class for people with disabilities.  No specialized experience is necessary - just enthusiasm and a willingness to help!

Volunteers do not have to commit to working all of the classes.  Even volunteering at one class is a big help. For example, during the fire safety class volunteers could help set up for fire extinguisher training and guide participants as they learn how to use a fire extinguisher.

The class is hosted by the Alliance of People with disAbilities and Hero House.  It is a 7-class series and the student participants are encouraged to attend all 7 classes.  Classes are held during the day on Thursdays from 1:30pm to 3:00pm.  The dates are May 29th, June 5th, June 12th, June 19th, June 26th, July 10th, and July 17th.

To volunteer please email the City of Kirkland Emergency Manager, Dr. Pattijean Hooper, at pjhooper@kirklandwa.gov.  Please indicate the training date you can attend.  Carpool in a city vehicle is available.
